Why knowing a little about anatomy is important?

To understand how our body is built as yoga focuses on self-knowledge, which also implies a body composed of bones and flesh

  • To understand the relationship between breath and spine / posture and motion

  • To be much more precise concerning what we expect from our body, to develop correct postures, avoid injuries, self-correct and adapt

  • To practice in security to avoid circulation, cardiac or articular issues

  • To balance the bone structure and thus our emotions, our energy, etc…

  • To understand our limits, work within the latter and thus start healing

  • To “use the knowledge of the body to create Drishti in our practice” Ray Long

  • To break through blockages

  • To age better
